GMA-7 Will Air 8 New TV Specials Before The Year Ends

GMA News and Public Affairs ends 2010 with anniversary celebrations and explosive finales.

I-Witness airs new documentaries this November. Veteran broadcast journalists Howie Severino, Kara David, Jay Taruc and Sandra Aguinaldo embark on a retelling of classics—big stories that were previously featured on GMA-7's documentary program.

With a new perspective and using new technologies and filming techniques, I-Witness will reintroduce these hot topics to today's generation.

Also this November, Jessica Soho will travel around the Philippines to look for stories that will give Filipinos a sense of pride. Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho's The Good Trip will also revisit some of the people and places that marked Jessica's 25 years in the broadcast industry. She will also take this opportunity to personally know the real concerns of Juan dela Cruz nowadays.

For four weeks starting November 27, Wish Ko Lang! will air its 8th anniversary specials. The first three weeks will show Wish Ko Lang! going around the Philippines granting life-changing wishes. The 4th week will be a pre-Christmas special for chosen kids who will be part of Wish Wonderland, including an unforgettable trip abroad.

Find out who will be the first Celebrity Sole Survivor on December 3 as the finale of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown featuring Richard Gutierrez and the 18 celebrity castaways airs live from the GMA Network Center.

Following the show's finale is the two-part Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown Reunion. The magazine-show will feature the most unforgettable moments of the third season, behind-the-scenes footage and updates on the castaways' lives.

Reunion airs December 5 on GMA-7's SNBO timeslot.

GMA-7's pioneer environment program proves that from what is normally viewed as trash, solutions can be born. On its third anniversary, Born to be Wild launches its latest version of the Born project. The two-part Born Project 2010: Born to be Wild's Anniversary Presentation initiates concrete efforts to help wildlife and the environment.

In the Christmas spirit of giving, the two-part special airs on December 8 and 15, after Saksi.

Ang Yaman ni Lola, the unique game/comedy-serye of GMA-7 will air back-to-back Christmas specials from December 14-24, 2010. Several new characters are also slated to join in the fun as the groundbreaking afternoon program readies its second season.

For the fourth quarter of the year, the Kapuso network also premiered the business reality-magazine show Hanep Buhay last November 13. Hosted by Chris Tiu and Love Añover, this TV show aims to empower Pinoys by providing info on how to manage funds properly, start up a business and make better financial decisions.

These shows mark the end of a fruitful year for GMA News and Public Affairs. The Kapuso Network received the George Foster Peabody Award early this year for the I-Witness episode "Ambulansiyang de Paa" as well as the Bronze World Medal for Environment and Ecology for the documentary special Planet Philippines.
