It's all a far cry from her squeaky clean Hannah Montana image.

Miley Cyrus, 17, shows she is continuing to grow up fast with a sexy appearance in a new music video.

The star shares a number of romantic moments and yearning looks with her co-star Kevin Zegers in the video for The Big Big Bang - a new song by Cyrus producing partners Rock Mafia.

The video flashes between memory, reality and surreality, appearing to show Cyrus as a ghostly former girlfriend who gets into a dramatic car accident.

At one point, she appears wearing a see through dress over a white bikini as she strolls along the beach hand in hand with Zegers as they stop to take a photo of themselves.

She also wears a mini skirt and a pair of over-the-knee boots in one scene.
'Rock Mafia is my family and there’s nothing that means more than creating with them,' Cyrus told E! News about her appearance in the video.

'The video is unique and honestly, was a life changing experience. This song means a lot to me.'

Gossip Girl star Zegers, 26, says he doesn't think the video is particularly risqué.
'It's definitely not raunchy in any way,' he told MTV News, adding that he enjoyed working with Cyrus on the shoot.

'She's very polite and well-raised, which is a rarity for someone in her position. I think she's a total sweetheart.'

Cyrus has cultivated an edgy new image with the release of her latest album Can't Be Tamed.

It's been a tough few weeks for the star with news that her father Billy Ray Cyrus has filed for divorce from her mother Tish.

And questions have been raised about the state of her relationship with on-off boyfriend Liam Hemsworth after he was spotted partying with a part time model in Australia at the weekend.
