Shes been struggling to reclaim her status as one of the most-sought after actresses in Hollywood for several years.
After a series of bit-parts and failed projects, Mischa Barton was clearly thrilled to be finally getting back to work as she filmed in Beverly Hills yesterday.
And despite what her bizarre outfit might suggest, its not a Sound of Music remake
The O.C. star wore a typically quirky ensemble as she walked around the upmarket suburb followed by a camera crew.
She sported some head-turning bright red lederhosen-style shorts over an aztec-print shorts.
The former style icon, who has been stepping out in some seriously questionable ensembles of late, at least added some chic accessories to the bizarre outfit with a tan bag and two-tone ankle boots.
A mike pack was visible peeking out from the back of Mischa's high-waisted shorts as a cameraman shadowed her.

Online rumours have been circulating for several months that the 24-year-old is working on an as-yet-untitled fly-on-the-wall project.
Her decision to venture into reality television may be in an effort to set the record straight about her life after she says she was unfairly portrayed on a recent doco-style show.
The actress participated in an episode of Fearne Cotton's series Fearne And... earlier this year, but was unhappy with the results.
'I think Fearne Cotton’s show is a joke and she’s a joke. I can’t hear Fearne’s name without seeing red,' she said recently.

'I wish I hadn’t done it and that’s bad because there are enough misconceptions about me in the press.
'She’s got nothing to lose if she makes a more salacious story, she’s only got everything to gain,' she told OK magazine.
'I don’t want to start a feud with her, it’s not worth it to me. She likes the fame, it doesn’t affect her like it affects the people she’s documenting.'
After years of struggling to find a stable job it appears things are finally looking up for Miss Barton.
In addition to the rumoured reality series, she has signed on for two new films, currently in pre-production.
She is due to begin filming The Science Of Cool, about a high school science experiment that goes really wrong, in the new year and has signed on to star in horror movie, Into The Darkness.
