College Athletes, Getting Paid Getting Paid

Pryor’s former friend, who asked not to be identified, said the player would receive between $500 and $1,000 for his signature on mini helmets and other gear from Dennis Talbott. The friend said the transactions occurred between 35 and 40 times.
When contacted, Talbott, a freelance photographer, would not speak about the allegations to ESPN.

I mean I said it before, I'll say it again.  Getting paid is cool, I'm not going to fault these kids.  They are awesome at shit and should be treated accordingly.

If you think the NCAA or the universities paying them is going to stop that, you are crazy.  If every player gets 3k a semester like some are proposing, that is nothing for a college kid to burn through.  If every kid gets 3k a month you still don't think Terrell Pryor is going to think it is unfair that he is getting 3k and so is the back up kicker?  So if it isn't a flat $ amount how do you set the scale?  Also, what happens if someone comes in unknown then blows up, he isn't going to want more money the next year?

Do you pay girls tennis? Seriously Boise St.

If you pay players a stipend it will stop some lesser players from trying to get money and doing petty crimes, but you are not going to stop future pro athletes from trying to ball, like they know they are going to in a couple years.

No amount of money the school is going to give them is ever going to be enough.
