'I feel my integrity has been compromised': Kerry Katona hits back at agent as she insists 'it was my decision to leave'

Taking her mind off things: Kerry Katona was yesterday seen going for a jog in Warrington after parting ways with her management company

Kerry Katona has hit back at claims she was dropped by her celebrity agent, insisting it was her decision to leave.

The 30-year-old star, who parted ways with Claire Powell's agency CAN Associates earlier this week, said reports she had been 'dumped' after a six-hour drinking session were untrue.

Kerry also wrote on her Twitter page she felt her 'integrity had been compromised'.

She tweeted: 'Contrary to recent press reports, I was not 'dumped' by CAN Associates.

'It was my decision to leave, as on a professional level my career was taking a direction that I did not want, nor did I feel was appropriate.

'Furthermore on a personal level, I felt that my integrity had been compromised, as it was with Nicola Partridge before me.

'I have not taken any drugs in the last year and a half - and if anyone claims otherwise, I will sue without hesitation.'

CAN Associates ended their working relationship with the troubled reality TV star on Thursday and confirmed on Friday they were no longer representing her.

They said: 'We can confirm that we no longer manage Kerry Katona.'

Kerry was pictured looking deep in thought yesterday as she went for a jog near her Warrington home.

CAN's announcement comes just a few days after Katona went on a mammoth six-hour drinking session on Tuesday night.

Kerry, 30, was seen looking rather worse for wear as she left the May Fair Hotel in the small hours of Wednesday morning.

She should have been attending the 21st birthday celebrations of The Only Way Is Essex star Amy Childs, who is also represented by CAN, in nearby Soho.

CAN clients typically attend events together, and the MailOnline noted that Kerry was a surprising no show on the night.

Initially offering no further comment, CAN later denied a newspaper report today that her recent partying had led to the decision to part ways.

Kerry signed to CAN in March last year as her career and public profile took a huge nosedive.

She had just split from her second husband Mark Croft, had been caught taking cocaine on camera and was declared bankrupt.

As part of her contract with CAN, she was banned from using drugs and subjected to regular testing, and forbidden from reuniting with Croft.

She was settled into a new home, adopted a new look which included a strict exercise and diet regime and starred in the sixth series of Dancing On Ice, which gave her career a much needed boost.

She also left her hometown of Warrington to start a new life in Surrey - near CAN's base in West Sussex - where she lived in a rented home paid for by CAN management.

When they took Katona on last year, Powell said: 'Kerry knows this is her last chance. There will be no drugs and no Mark. She has signed a legal document agreeing to that.

'Kerry approached me six months ago to take her on but I refused while Mark was still around. I do not believe he has been a positive influence on her. If she is prepared to work hard and stay clean she has a great career ahead of her.'

CAN Associates' sister company CAN TV produced her ITV2 reality show Kerry Katona: The Next Chapter.

The show averaged between 800,000 to 900,000 viewers during its April broadcasts.
