The New York Knicks have acquired Carmelo Anthony, league sources told ESPN The Magazine's senior writer Chris Broussard on Monday night.
League sources also told Broussard that none of the teams can officially confirm the deal until Tuesday.
The swap is a three-way deal including Minnesota, a league source told Broussard.
As a part of the deal, Denver will get Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks' 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash while Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman will head to New York, according to the Denver Post.
Well Bulls fans get to know this New York Knicks team, because very likely we are looking at the Bulls first round opponent come playoff time. With this trade the Knicks, and the trio of Anthony, Stoudemire, and Billups, have become part of the 2nd tier teams in the East; along with our Bulls, the Magic and the Hawks. What they dont have is a bench or a defense to speak of. Bulls in 6. But the Garden is back and the power in the NBA is slow but surely coming back to the East.
PS- The Bulls need to make a move before the deadline, and Cleveland Cavalier Anthony Parker is not the answer. We need a legit shooting guard. The three headed midget of Korver, Bogans and Brewer isn't gonna cut in the playoffs against the likes of D Wade, Ray Allen, and Joe Johnson. OJ Mayo might make some sense and/or Rip Hamilton could give us some much needed experience and scoring at that position.
