According to The Daily Mail, a miner notes how a group would disappear in the mine to smoke pot, causing a division amongst the other trapped miners. One miner reports the group of stoners "never even offered me one" toke to alleviate the stress of being trapped underground. He claims that some of the miners struggled with various addictions, writing "In addition to tobacco, many had a prodigious addiction to alcohol. Several were users of cocaine and its toxic by-product, an addictive and brain-destroying chemical sludge known as 'pasta base.' For these men entrapment also meant enforced cold turkey, the accompanying mood swings and desperation making their ordeal all the worse."

And they had a bad case of the munchies, cause the article goes on to say they almost resorted to cannabalism. Which doesn't make any sense because if you can get weed to guys 10 miles below the earth's surface, you should be able to get food to them right?
