Charice Launched Her 1st International Single "A Note to God" on Oprah

Charice officially launched her first international single "A Note to God" on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

The powerhouse young vocalist has a powerhouse team for her debut album which include Grammy award-winning Diane Warren (writer of monster hits like I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing, Unbreak My Heart, Because You Love Me and How Do I Live), the legendary David Foster (album producer of Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, etc.) and the most influential woman Oprah Winfrey.

On the May 18 (Monday) episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show, Charice performed her first US single entitled "A Note to God." She was teary eyed as she belted out the last part of the song amid cheers and applause from the audience. It also brought Oprah to tears.

Charice was accompanied by an orchestra and a choir with David Foster playing on the piano. Some critics compared the performance to an American Idol finale where the audience are having goosebumps while listening to the song. Even before Charice hit the final note, the audience were already in standing ovation.

Oprah could only utter "wow" while Diane Warren described Charice’s performance as "amazing" and "beautiful."

David Foster, on the other hand, said: "In my world, this only happens two to three times probably in my lifetime. And I work with a lot of people. So, this is one of those two to three moments… she just sings so beautifully."

Charice and Billy Crawford Sing the New TFC Station ID Theme Song "Dahil Tayo'y Pilipino"

After Martin Nievera, Lea Salonga and Gary Valenciano, undeniably no one but Charice could be the perfect choice to sing the new theme song of TFC (The Filipino Channel) Station ID.

Titled "Dahil Tayo'y Pilipino", TFC's new station ID theme song were sung by Filipino world-class singing sensation Charice together with Filipino International pop RnB star Billy Crawford.

The launching of the new station ID and theme song coincides with the 15th anniversary of The Filipino Channel this year.

And on their 15th year anniversary, TFC continues to empower the global Pinoy in his quest for a better life, helping Pinoy build a global community, bringing the home closer to Filipinos wherever they may be, and promoting the best of the Philippines to the rest of the world.

Charice Sings the "Star Spangled Banner" at Los Angeles Dodgers Opening Ceremony

Charice Pempengco sings the Star Spangled Banner in front of 57,099 people at Los Angeles Dodgers opening day ceremony at Dodger Stadium, live last April 13,2009 at 12:30 PM.

"Now we welcome the phenomenal young teen whose singing has been worldwide fame and admiration and who is sensational this year's historic Presidential inauguration events. Please welcome from the Philippines, sixteen year-old, Charice." was how Charice introduced by the main stage emcee.

Aside from the standing ovation, Charice likewise received positive write-ups from several critiques abroad on her performance, "It was the best national anthem rendition I have ever heard, better than the game," Russell Martin uttered. While Manager Joe Torres says, "Tears in my eyes when she really gets going,"

In an interview with TV Patrol World, Charice expresses her delight in singing the U.S. National Anthem, "Isipin nyo sa tagal ng years na 'yun, and dami nang celebrities na kumanta ng American National Anthem. Ang masaya lang sa para akin ako yung pinili nila kahit hinde naman ako American Citizen."

Charice to Star in Hollywood Film "Alvin and the Chipmunks 2"

There is really no stopping Charice to conquer the international scene.

Although her first international album is yet to be released, Charice hits another milestone in her career as she is set to appear in her first Hollywood movie "Alvin and the Chipmunks 2".

Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 is a live action-animation production by 20th Century Fox currently shooting in L.A. and slated to be shown in the Philippines in January 2010. It’s not clear yet what role Charice is playing but she already flew to Los Angeles last Monday in preparation to her first shooting day next week.

Charice was very careful not to reveal too many details about the said movie.

"Yung story niya umiikot sa tatlong animated characters," was the only clue Charice gave to the press.

Charice is also one of the featured stars to perform in the upcoming David Foster and Friends Concert on April 25, 2009 at Foxwood Casino Connecticut and May 9, 2009 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
