Toasting to success: Wayne and Coleen Rooney celebrate the footballer's pay rise with a luxury holiday in Dubai

Wayne and Coleen Rooney are seen toasting his new £8million-a-year pay rise in Dubai with pink champagne - looking every inch the happy couple.

It appears after a turbulent few months the pair are finally back on track, putting allegations about Wayne's infidelity behind them.

Personally and professionally it has been a dramatic few weeks for the injured star.

After keeping fans guessing about whether or not he would quit Manchester United he has managed to stay put with a £250,000 a week pay rise - making him the highest paid footballer in the world.

Now the couple are celebrating the pay rise with a £17,000 mini break in the seven star Burj Al Arab, where they were seen laughing and joking in the swanky hotel's pool.

Four nights in a deluxe suite at the Burj Al Arab costs almost £10,000, making it one of the most luxurious hotels in the world.

The couple were also celebrating the England Ace's 25th birthday on the glamorous holiday.

It is claimed that they jetted out to Dubai following Wayne's heart-to-heart with Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson - where Ferguson advised the star to take the break.

However, the striker has attracted criticism from fans for opting to lounge in the pool rather than watch his teammates as they beat Stoke back home.

Also back at home was baby son Kai, giving the couple some much needed alone time after the recent prostitute allegations against Wayne that some thought would spell the end of their marriage.

The pair are expected to fly home this weekend to host a party for 100 close friends in a further celebration of Wayne's birthday - a party which was postponed for the luxury trip.
