Gar wins Exec of the Year Award

espn- That Pat Riley was named NBA Executive of the Year comes as no surprise considering he reeled in LeBron James and Chris Bosh to go with Dwyane Wade on the Miami Heat. But the guy who lost out on those two guys, Chicago Bulls general manager Gar Forman, received co-recipient honors in an announcement made on Tuesday.
Forman did sign free agents Carlos Boozer, Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver during the offseason, and the Bulls went on to win a league-high 62 games. The Bulls have cleaned up in postseason awards, with Tom Thibodeau winning Coach of the Year and Derrick Rose grabbing the league MVP trophy.
Riley pulled off a coup by getting James to leave Cleveland for Miami and Bosh to bolt Toronto. The Heat won 58 games this season for second in the East.
Miami currently leads Boston 3-1 in their Eastern Conference semifinal series, while Chicago is tied 2-2 with Atlanta.
Bulls president of basketball operations John Paxson finished third in voting by fellow team executives. San Antonio's R.C. Buford was fourth.

Well 3 pieces of hardware down, 1 to go. The MVP, Coach of the Year and now Executive of the Year trophies will all reside at the Berto Center for the next year. But these accolades won't mean anything if we don't get passed Atlanta and Miami.
Tonight's game is the biggest game at the United Center in 12 years. We lose this one and we are done. We win and we can start planning for Miami. I'm getting sick of these lackadaisical starts that have plagued us throughout the playoffs. We have to jump on them early, and I can't believe I'm saying this but we have to contain Jeff Teague, keep him out of the lane and make him look like the career reserve that he is. Also it's obvious Boozer can't guard Josh Smith so, Tibs has to switch Noah on him and make Jason Collins beat Boozer.
Another key to the game is Kyle Korver, if he can't make shots like he did down the stretch of the regular season and in the Pacer series, then he is useless to the team. He needs to make a couple right when he enters the game to get his confidence back.

PS- The only reason Gar deserves this award is for signing Tom Thibideau. Boozer was a horrible signing that will only be worse in years 3,4, and 5 of that deal. Brewer and Korver are nice signings but not Exec of the Year material.

PPS- Am I the only one who thinks Gar Forman kinda looks like my favorite politician, Phil Davison. I wonder if Gar has a masters in communication?
