Back to reality for The Only Way Is Essex stars Amy, Sam and Harry as they're turned away from nightclub

Embarrassing: The Only Way Is Essex stars (L-R) Amy Childs, Harry Derbidge and Sam Faiers make a swift exit after being refused entry to Funky Buddha in London last night

They've only been famous for a matter of weeks following the runaway success of ITV reality show The Only Way Is Essex.

But the show's stars Amy Childs, Sam Faiers and Harry Derbidge found their newfound fame can't guarantee entry into London's most exclusive nightspots.

The trio had been invited to the launch of the Playboy Energy Drink at the Funky Buddha members club in Mayfair, but were turned away at the door.

Writing on her Twitter, furious glamour model Sam, 19, complained doormen had refused to let performing arts student Harry enter because he was underage.

While Faiers criticised the venue for not allowing 16-year-old Derbidge in the club, actually both she and Childs are still a year or two shy of Funky Buddha's over-21s policy.

So in a show of solidarity, the trio headed in a cab back home to their native Essex.

At least they'll be guaranteed entry at one of their usual haunts, Faces nightclub in Hoddesdon, Herts tonight - just over the county border from Essex.

Writing on her Twitter last night, Sam said: 'On way home with Amy and Harry, Funky Buddha was a joke, what a s**t club, inviting us and not letting Harry in. Idiots.

'Cos Harry's 16!! Then why invite him, w***ers!! Anyway, Faces Hoddeson tomorrow for a PA, with Harry, Lydia and Argent!'

As well as having to go home before midnight, redhead Childs, 20, was also unhappy with the newfound paparazzi attention.

She wrote on Twitter: 'Cannot believe I couldn't close the door of the cab as there was 15 pap guys not letting me close the door...Annoying.'

However, their Only Way Is Essex co-star Mark Wright and his best friend, Jade Goody's widower Jack Tweed, did make it past the doormen.

Although Childs, Faiers and Derbidge missed out on partying with hostess Kelly Brook and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger at Funky Buddha, they did manage a few drinks at the May Fair Hotel.

After filming The Only Way Is Essex finished two weeks ago, the cast have signed to star in a Christmas special next month and are rumoured be signing for a second series in the new year.

An early night then? Sam looked happy again as she headed off in a cab back home to Brentwood, Essex
