Bagyong Falcon (Tropical Storm Falcon) June 23, 7p.m. PAGASA Weather Update


At 5:00 p.m. today, Tropical Storm "FALCON" (MEARI) has has merged with the low pressure area and intensified slightly as it moves northwestward.

Tropical Depression "Falcon" is estimated based on satellite and surface data at 420 km East of Casiguran, Aurora (16.4°N, 126.5°E) with maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) advises all residents in low lying and mountainous areas under signal # 1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Tropical Storm FALCON is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon and will bring rains over Central and Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Gale Warning is issued over the eastern seaboard of the country and the western seaboard of Luzon and of Visayas.
