Plaxico out of prison... Don't count on Bears signing him

After serving 21 months of his 2 year sentence, Plaxico Burress is finally a free man. He is reportedly flying back to Ft. Lauderdale today to resume workouts in expectation of being signed when the NFL lockout ends. The odds on favorite to land Plax are the Philadelphia Eagles, which makes sense because of how the Vick experiment worked out for them. Other rumors have Plax signing with the Ravens, the 49ers and the Rams.
He is 33, but his body hasn't taken any hits in 2 years so really his football age is 31. His height is his biggest attribute, but he has been called soft and has often times short armed balls in traffic in his career. He is probably no longer a #1 receiver, but he certainly can be a productive player.
I'm not sure if he's a good fit for the Bears or not. Part of me says a dumbass like Plax will just piss people off in this town with his lazy work habits and lack of toughness. But the other part of me is sick of watching average wide receivers every fucking Sunday for the last 20 years.
But no matter what I think, the Bears just don't sign/draft troublemakers. And this strategy has bitten us time and time again. From Warren Sapp to Randy Moss, the Bears continually pass and let others take risks that have led to high rewards. So until the McCaskey family gets its head out of its ass, and realizes the best athletes in this country come from troubled backgrounds, then we will just have to settle for nice guys with slightly above average skill sets.
